Yezanira Venecia began her career in romance and since then has worked on a variety of genres, including crime fiction, mystery/thrillers, general fiction and nonfiction.  Among Yezanira’s most notable books acquired and worked on are Sinister Graves by Marcie R. Rendon; The Motion Picture Teller by Colin Cotterill; Murder on the Vine by Camilla Trinchieri; The Mistress of Bhatia House by Sujata Massey. During her time at Soho Press, she helped spearhead the Mexico in Translation Project, which focused on acquiring Mexican literature for translation; her first acquisition for this project was El veranode la serpiente by Cecilia Eudave.

Yezanira is excited to continue to be a champion for authors in the Latine community. Her interests in fiction are romance, horror, mystery/thrillers, LGBTQ+ stories, and she’s particularly interested in the exploration of cross-genres, specifically romance-horror. For nonfiction, she’s interested in family dynamics, true crime, and the struggles and empowerment of the Latine community.
