Claudia van der Werf has been the publisher of the children’s books department at De Fontein since February 2023. She has been working in the children’s book industry for over 20 years and has worked at the largest children’s book publishers (Uitgeverij Ploegsma, Querido Kinderboek, and Leopold) in various positions. “It is no longer self-evident that children love reading or come into contact with books. Together with my team, I want to create books that children love and encourage enjoyment in reading; I want to make books that children choose to read themselves and not just books their parents want them to read.”
