About the Editor

Editor photo of Ian Straus

Ian Straus joined Simon & Schuster as an editor in 2023. Prior to that, he helped launch the Spark imprint at Little, Brown and Company, where he worked with authors like Daniel Kahneman, Nicholas Christakis, Edward Slingerland, Arline Geronimus, Harriet Washington, and Ben Montgomery. Editorially, his primary interests lie in science, nature, psychology, history, current events, and the social sciences, and he is especially enthusiastic about books in those categories that blend a great story with a provocative argument or a new idea. His forthcoming titles at S&S include All Alone by Robert J. Coplan, PhD, Take Care of Them like My Own by Ala Stanford, MD, Anointed by Toby Stuart, PhD, and Playing from the Rough by Jimmie James.
