About the Editor

Editor photo of Amanda Ramirez

Amanda Ramirez joined S&S BFYR in the summer of 2016. She is on the lookout for commercial fiction by marginalized creators for young adult and middle grade audiences, as well as graphic novels for all age ranges. She loves fresh and light-hearted romps filled with humor, hi-jinks, and dynamic characters, and gravitates toward contemporary realism, but loves adventure of all kinds as long as they’re grounded with modern elements. Amanda is not a good match for historical fiction, poetry or novels in verse, anthologies, nonfiction, or picture books and chapter books. She is a host of GateCrashers, a pop-culture media podcast, and can usually be found playing video games, tending to her growing plant collection, or biking to her local Dunkin’. You can learn more about Amanda, her taste, and the books she’s worked on at
