About the Editor
Max is acquiring narrative nonfiction, and is a generalist drawn to strong writing more than specific subject matters. He looks for books that are both thoughtful and commercial, and have gravitas, heart, humor, (or all three). That said, the genres and topics that interest him most are memoir, humor, entertainment (film, television, comedy, music), sports, history, politics, psychology, travel and adventure, and nature.Â
Max has been with Gallery Books since 2017, after completing an MFA in fiction writing at Royal Holloway, University of London, and an internship at Aevitas Creative Management. Previous to that, he managed production on an Academy Award–winning documentary short, taught high school English in Bangkok, Thailand, and taught business writing for the Wharton MBA program at The University of Pennsylvania.
