About the Editor
Sean Manning is an Executive Editor at Simon & Schuster interested in narrative nonfiction, memoir, contemporary history, literary and commercial fiction, cultural explorations, and anything else with a distinctive and exciting voice. Authors he has worked with include Howard Stern, Alex Trebek, Sebastian Junger, James Lee Burke, Rick Perlstein, Cecily Strong, Val Kilmer, Kevin Garnett, Richard Marx and Martin Cruz Smith. He is the author of the family memoir The Things That Need Doing—described by Dani Shapiro as “a brave and beautiful book”—and editor of five critically acclaimed anthologies. He attracted national attention as the Executive Editor of Rhapsody, an in-flight magazine published by United Airlines, which The New York Times described as “the Paris Review of the air.” He received his MFA in fiction writing from The New School.
