Carolyn Kelly Editor (she/her) Avid Reader Press

About the Editor

Carolyn Kelly joined Avid Reader Press in January 2019 after interning for Writers House, the Frances Goldin Literary Agency, and W. W. Norton & Company. On the fiction side, she is called to literary and upmarket fiction with an emphasis on familial sagas, big-hearted storytelling at the intersection of grief and humor, and speculative stories. For nonfiction, she is interested in editing narrative journalism, history, pop culture, and social science, especially from original voices and perspectives. Her titles include Separation of Church and Hate by John Fugelsang, The Devil Reached Toward the Sky by Garrett M. Graff, Honey in the Wound by Jiyoung Han, Too Soon by Betty Shamieh, Bad Tourists by Caro Carver, 100,000 First Bosses: My Unlikely Path as a 22-Year-Old Lawmaker by Will Haskell, and Pretty Baby by Chris Belcher. A native Chicagoan and lifelong Cubs fan, Carolyn moved to New York after graduating from Princeton University summa cum laude with a degree in English.
