Rebekah Jett Assistant Editor Scribner

Rebekah Jett, Editor, came to Scribner from Books Are Magic in 2019. She is interested in acquiring literary and upmarket fiction and narrative nonfiction, and is drawn to clear, purposeful voice, deliberate story structure, and lively and authentic character depictions. She particularly enjoys stories in which widely relevant themes are explored through seemingly narrow subjects—for example, a deep dive into a topic, subculture, historical moment, or relationship dynamic—and she welcomes work that makes creative use of story elements traditionally associated with genre fiction. She is a graduate of Columbia University, where she specialized in African American literature.
