Amy Guay, Editorial Assistant

Amy Guay is an editorial assistant at Avid Reader Press. She is passionate about contemporary literary fiction that unites lucid prose with emotional precision, and has a particular interest in queer stories, coming-of-age novels, and strange and specific collections. She hopes to vigorously acquire projects by and about writers who diverge from industry norms, grounded by a strong, singular voice and buoyed by a sense of humor. In her time at Avid, the titles she has assisted on include The Appointment by Katharina Volckmer (longlisted for the Folio Prize), Group by Christie Tate, and Infinite Country by Patricia Engel (both New York Times bestsellers and Reeseā€™s Book Club picks). Before joining the imprint, she wrote for The Chautauquan Daily, Washington City Paper, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. She grew up in Sarasota, Florida, and graduated with a B.A. in American Studies from Georgetown University.
