LaSharah S. Bunting joined Simon & Schuster in 2021 as Vice President and Executive Editor after a 20-year career in journalism. LaSharah spent 13 years at The New York Times, where she served in various editing roles. While at The Times, she led digital transformation across the newsroom. LaSharah also worked as an editor on the National desk, where she oversaw breaking news, multimedia projects and audience engagement. She was an assignment editor on the Metro and Arts/Culture desks as well as editor for Frank Rich’s Sunday Op-Ed column. After leaving The Times, she was Director/Journalism at Knight Foundation, where she managed a portfolio of grants and initiatives focused on advancing journalism. LaSharah serves on the board of directors of Dow Jones News Fund and the Digital Diversity Network. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in journalism. An Omaha native, LaSharah lives in Miami.
