About the Editor
Lara Blackman joined the Simon & Schuster Audio team in 2022, where she is spearheading the expansion of the original audio publishing program. In her previous role, she was acquiring and producing original titles for Audible, where she worked with bestselling authors and award-winning creators such as Wendy Walker, Anne Helen Petersen, Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen, Marie Benedict and Rose Eveleth. For the Simon & Schuster Audio Originals list, she is looking for work written and produced expressly for the audio format across genres. Categories of interest include commercial fiction and platform-driven nonfiction such as self-development, memoir, and business. In addition to single-voice audiobooks, Lara is acquiring and developing projects across audio production styles, including scripted fiction, audio documentary, as-told-to memoir, interview-driven listens and more. Recent publications include The Levee by William Kent Krueger, The Honeymoon Crashers by Christina Lauren, But First, God by Julie Chen Moonves, #CrimeTime by Jeneva Rose and Drew Pyne, and One of Our Own by Lucinda Berry.
