About the Editor

 

Catharina Schilder is a Publisher at Alfabet. Together with Arend Hosman and Saar Schwachöfer, she co-founded Alfabet Publishers in 2020. Prior to that, she worked at Querido and Balans, and spent seven years as a non-fiction acquisitions editor at De Bezige Bij. She also worked for several years at Thomas Rap, where she was the editor for authors including Selma van de Perre – whose memoir My Name Is Selma was published by Simon & Schuster and translated into 19 other languages. At De Bezige Bij, she acquired and published acclaimed authors such as Tara Westover, Helen Macdonald, Edmund de Waal, Olivia Laing, Philipp Blom, and Thomas Piketty.
