Alexandra Silvas (she/her) Editorial Assistant Avid Reader Press

Alexandra joined Avid Reader Press as an editorial assistant in 2025 after interning at Farrar, Straus and Giroux. She is particularly drawn to literary fiction and nonfiction featuring captivating voices, propulsive interiority, and unique structural framework. Prior to entering publishing, Alexandra taught creative writing to 2nd-12th grade students. Her love of literature grew to encompass all things book related when she studied book arts as an undergraduate at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She earned her BA in Sociology/Latin American and Latino Studies and Literature and went on to receive an MFA in fiction from Saint Mary’s College of California.
